Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Eric Forbes / Trail Status Pro ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the Trail Status Pro mobile application and related services (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the Apple App Store or Google Play terms that apply to your device.
2. Accounts
You can use the App without an account. If you choose to sign in (with Apple, Google, or a passwordless email link), you are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account and associated data at any time from within the App.
3. Subscriptions (Trail Status Pro)
The App offers an optional auto-renewable subscription, "Trail Status Pro", which unlocks automatic trail-status alerts, Trail News, unlimited saved trails, and (on iOS) the home screen widget.
- Pricing: $1.99 per month or $19.99 per year (prices may vary by region and are shown in the App before purchase).
- Free trial: new subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins and you are charged for the plan you selected.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Managing & cancelling: you can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings (iOS) or Google Play subscriptions (Android) after purchase. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Payment: payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
Give-back pledge
We pledge to direct 25% of subscription revenue to the trail organization a subscriber rides with, where a membership can be verified. This is a voluntary business pledge, not a fee, discount, or part of the price you pay, and does not change the subscription terms above.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App, including: interfering with or disrupting the service; attempting to access it in an unauthorized way; submitting false trail information; or using the App to violate any law or the rights of others.
5. User-submitted content
If you submit trails, status information, or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the App and service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit it.
6. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of trail information. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, injury, or property damage arising from your use of the App or reliance on trail information within it.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time.
